About Heidi G. Chapman
Heidi Chapman handles complex workers' compensation cases. If a worker is injured due to the fault of someone other than the employer or a co-worker, Heidi also handles the "third party" case.'
Heidi handles serious automobile and tractor trailer accident cases. These cases often involve underinsurance and uninsured motorist coverage issues.
Heidi handles burn injury cases, construction accident cases, traffic accidents involving several vehicles, and other personal injury cases.
Heidi handles Social Security disability cases.
The Early Years
Heidi attended Duke University where she majored in German and History. She graduated in 1976 with an A.B. magna cum laude. After Duke, Heidi worked for four years as a German bibliographer, a Fuller Brush salesperson, a Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey ticket seller, and an evaluator of Head Start educational services nationwide.
Heidi enrolled in UNC-Chapel Hill Law School in 1980.
From 1983-85, she clerked for the Honorable Charles Becton on the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
In 1985 she joined the law firm of Beskind and Rudolf, P.A. where she spent three years learning how to represent people who were dealing with serious injury and death.
In 1989 she left Beskind and Rudolf, P.A. to start her own practice limited to personal injury and workers' compensation cases. She has had her own practice ever since.
Professional Activities
Heidi has served as President of the 15B Judicial District Bar, Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ), and President of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys. She is currently serving as Co-Chair of the NCAJ Workers' Compensation Section's Legislative Committee.
Heidi has taught Legal Research and Writing and Trial Advocacy at UNC Law School. She has been a frequent speaker on insurance law issues at Continuing Legal Education programs held by statewide bar organizations.
Heidi also has served for six years as President of the Kings Mill/Morgan Creek Neighborhood Association, representing 150 neighbors in lawsuits and public hearings.
